THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 246/5 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 4.03 g, 12h). Mesembria mint. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield; to inner left, Corinthian helmet right above ΔI(?). Unpublished, but cf. E. Petac, “From the Types of Alexander to Lysimachus: The Chronology of Some Mesembrian and Other West Pontic Staters” in AJN 23 (2011), p. 11, 5 and pl. I, 4 for a stater with these controls. Toned, some porosity and roughness, light cleaning marks, double struck on reverse. VF. Unique.
