CILICIA, Anazarbus. Otacilia Severa. Augusta, AD 244-249. Æ Hexassarion (32.5mm, 24.73 g, 1h). Dated CY 263 (AD 244/5). Diademed and draped bust right, set on crescent / Eirene seated left, holding olive branch and scepter; ЄT ΓΞC (date) in field; parts of trophy (cuirass, shield, helmet, sword and sheath) in exergue. Ziegler 731 (Vs2/Rs6); RPC VIII Online 21752; SNG BN 2117; SNG Levante 1493 var. (rev. legend). Olive green patina, light porosity, struck on a broad flan. VF. This type is commonly found struck on oversized flans but this specimen is much larger than normal. RPC records specimens ranging from 11-21 grams, the diameter is right for the type but the weight on this coin exceeds the heaviest recorded by RPC by nearly three grams.
