Northern France, Paris. Circa AD 1440. Leaf (4.33”x6.10”). Medieval Book of Hours. Illuminated leaf containing a prayer followed by a reading from Luke 1: 39-45a. From a prayer book worthy of someone of some means for the time. A wonderful and famous Gospel passage. Gold, red, blue, and silver illumination. Ink intact and readable. Slight browning and residual adhesive at edge, minor wrinkle, old price and code penciled in at lower margin. VF.
