Nero. AD 54-68. Æ Sestertius (37mm, 27.14 g, 7h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 64. Laureate head left / Nero on horseback riding right, holding spear; behind him, soldier on horseback riding right, holding vexillum; S C across fields, DECVRSIO in exergue. RIC I 168; WCN 131. Dark brown patina, scattered marks and flan flaws, a few light scratches. Near VF. Struck on a broad flan.

Purchased by the consignor from Classical Coins, June 2004.
