Pupienus. AD 238. Æ Sestertius (28mm, 19.47 g, 2h). Rome mint. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Pax seated left, holding branch and short transverse scepter; SC in exergue. RIC IV 22; Banti 7 (this coin illustrated, but incorrect sales record noted). Attractive even brown patina, faint porosity on reverse. Good VF. A superb portrait of the short-reigning emperor.
