Winged head of Medusa left, serpents in her hair; SABVLA upward to right / Bellerophon riding Pegasus right, hurling spear; I (number) on left, L • COSSVTI • C • F below. Crawford 395/1; Sydenham 790; Cossutia 1; BMCRR Rome 3320-8 var. (number on rev.); Kestner 3285; RBW 1436 var. (same). Toned, minor deposits, hairline flan crack. Near EF. An exceptional depiction of Medusa.
