JEWELRY. Roman. 3rd – 4th Cent. CE. (4.9 cm). Gold. A pair of Eastern Roman Gold earrings with a central disk with twisted wire attached as the central focus of the earring to an oval bar clasp. Below the loop, a grouping of 5 hollow gold balls are attached to a circular mount, representing a cluster of grapes. Several small gold beadlets were added to further embellish the design. Minor crushing on hollow beads, otherwise intact and in good shape. |
