POTTERY. Magna Graecia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (175 mm wide x 200 mm tall). An Apulian Kantharos with a round foot and long stem supporting a cylindrical body with a flared lip. To either side, tall handles extend from the bottom of the body curving in on themselves to attach both to the lip and back on itself. On the body, a bejeweled Lady of Fashion with hair up faces left, a pomegranate and another legume rest below. Minor losses at points, otherwise intact. |
