NABATAEA. Obodas II, with Hagaru I. 30-9 BC. Æ (18.5mm, 4.60 g, 12h). Pre-reform coinage(?). Petra mint. Uncertain date. Jugate diademed busts of Obodas and Hagaru, draped, right / Eagle standing left; Obodas the king (in Nabataean) to left, [king of the Nabataeans and date (in Nabataean) to right?]; Nabataean ḥēth to inner right. Unpublished in the standard references. Earthen dark green patina, cleaning scratches, off center. VF.

These types are only known for year 7 of Obodas’s reign, but the legend here starts on the upper left, rather than the lower right. As the date is not across the central field, it must be at the end of the legend to the right, which is off the flan on this example. Another anomaly is that the Nabataean ḥēth appears alone in the field on the reverse; the Nabataean samekh is not present. Barkay notes that this only occurs on coins struck after the reform in Obodas’s year 8, but this bronze type is unknown in the post reform coinage.
