Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.55 g, 12h). Uncertain Eastern mint. Struck 27-20 BC. Head right, wearing oak wreath / AVGVSTVS, capricorn right, holding globe attached to rudder between front hooves; cornucopia above its back. RIC I 541 var. (laureate); RSC 23; BMCRE 664 note. Iridescent tone, a couple of flan flaws on obverse, porosity, a few scratches, flan crack. VF. Rare.

The obverse shows Augustus wearing the corona civica, an oak wreath awarded to an individual who had personally saved a citizen (in Augustus' case it was the citizen body of the Roman world).
