Tripod, legs surmounted by wreaths and terminating in lion's feet, two serpents rising from the bowl; crab to left, retrograde (koppa)PO to right / Incuse tripod as obverse, but wreaths in relief and no serpents; kithara to left, retrograde (koppa)PO to right. Attianese –; Gorini –; HN Italy 2089; SNG ANS 301 (same dies). Iridescent tone, minor die wear. VF. Extremely rare third nomos with crab and kithara, this coin is the only example in CoinArchives. |
