Head of Asklepios left, wearing laurel wreath; AΣKΛEHΠ-I-O-[Σ] around / Hound at bay left; monogram above, ΣYPA[KOΣIΩN] in exergue. Castrizio Series II, 4 corr. (obv. type); CNS 84; HGC 2, 1511; SNG Morcom 721. Dark green patina, some encrustation. VF. Very rare, and exceptional for issue.

Most of the standard references refer to the portrait on this issue as that of Zeus, but the reading of the legend around the portrait clearly identifies it as Asklepios.
