Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Denarius (18.5mm, 3.34 g, 9h). Rome mint; Q. Rustius, moneyer. Struck 19 BC. Jugate, draped busts right of Fortuna Victrix, wearing round helmet, and Fortuna Felix, diademed, set on bar with ram’s head finials / The altar of Fortuna Redux: ornamented altar inscribed FOR RE. RIC I 322; RSC 513; Elkins, Monuments Figure 58; CNR III 411 (this coin). Deep iridescent toning, some porosity and shallow scratches under tone, hairline flan crack, edge marks, chipping at edge reveals crystallization. Good VF. Architectural reverse depicting the altar of Fortuna Redux.
