KINGS of THRACE, Macedonian. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 16.81 g, 12h). Magnesia on the Maeander mint. Struck circa 297/6-282/1 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left. Thompson 113 var. (monogram); Müller 552 var. (same); HGC 3, 1750e. In NGC encapsulation 2400069-002, graded Ch XF, Strike: 5/5, Surface: 3/5. Extremely rare variety, approximately seven published.

A very distinctive and powerful portrayal of Alexander the Great, quite different from what is routinely seen at Magnesia. This variety incorporates an entire omicron in the control unlike versions listed under Thompson 113.
