KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 17.19 g, 11h). Damaskos mint. Struck under Menon or Menes, circa 330-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, forepart of ram right; below throne, pellet above strut, ΔA below. Price 3203; Taylor, Damaskos, Group 2.1.1, 172–3 (A36/P50); ANS 1944.100.34354 (same dies). Faintly toned, overcleaned, struck with somewhat worn obverse die, light scrape on reverse. Good VF.
