Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22mm, 3.80 g, 6h). Londinium (London) mint. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Hercules walking right, resting hand on club set on ground to left and holding bow; lion skin draped over arm; S|P//MLXXI. RIC V –; Bourne 10; Carson, "Carausius et Fratres Sui: A Reconsideration," in SPNO 2 (1982), p. 247, 4 and pl. XXX, 3 (this coin; [illustrated from a BM cast of this coin]). Rough dark brown and green-blue patina. VF. Extremely rare.
