Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19.5mm, 3.14 g, 6h). Rotomagus (Rouen) mint. IMP C CARAVSIVS IVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right / VIRTV S AVG, Minerva standing left, resting hand on shield set on ground to left, and holding spear. RIC V 699. Dark brown patina, somewhat off center. Good VF. Extremely rare. R2 in the old RIC with Webb citing his 1907 catalog where he cited Sir Henry H. Howorth’s Collection.
