MACEDON, Roman Republican period. First Meris. Circa 174/3-149 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.87 g, 12h). Amphipolis mint. Struck circa 156-2nd half of 2nd century BC. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, with bow and quiver over shoulder; all in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club right; monogram above, two monograms below; all within oak wreath; thunderbolt to left. Prokopov, Silver, Group II.A, 496 var. (O111/R398 [die combination unrecorded]); HGC 3, 1103. Toned, light porosity, scratches. VF.
