IONIA, Ephesus. Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Cistophorus (30mm, 10.80 g, 6h). Bare head right / Cult statue of Diana (Artemis) Ephesia standing facing, wearing kalathos and fillets hanging from wrists; flanked by stags. Metcalf, Cistophori, Type 19; RPC III 1347; RSC 319. Toned, flan crack, remnants of find patina. Overstruck on a cistophorus of Antony and Octavia (RPC 2202). Near VF. The undertype is clearly visible with much of the legend remaining on the reverse.
