EGYPT, Alexandria. Maximianus. First reign, AD 286-305. Potin Tetradrachm (17mm, 6.85 g, 12h). Dated RY 4 (AD 288/9). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Radiate and draped bust of Helios right vis-à-vis draped bust of Serapis, wearing ornate kalathos, left; to right, star, L Δ (date) above. Köln 3304; Dattari (Savio) 5984; K&G 120.38; RPC X Online 76041 (this coin cited); Emmett 4157.4 (R5). Brown patina with red earthen deposits, struck on a small flan. Near VF. Extremely rare, one of three known.
