C. Malleolus, A. Albinus Sp.f., and L. Caecilius Metellus. 96 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.94 g, 10h). Rome mint. Helmeted head of Mars right; malleolus above, mark of value below chin / Warrior standing left, holding spear, foot set on cuirass; trophy to left; to right, grasshopper above prow left. Crawford 335/3d; Sydenham 615a; Poblicia 6; RBW 1204. Deep old cabinet toning with faint iridescence, a little die rust and collector’s inventory number 830 in red on obverse. VF.
