PHOENICIA, Aradus. Macrinus. AD 217-218. BI Tetradrachm (25mm, 11.52 g, 12h). Laureate bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder / Eagle standing facing, head and tail right, with wings displayed, holding wreath in beak; between legs, bull’s head right. RPC V.3 Online 91499; Prieur –. Lightly toned, peripheral roughness, scratches, trace deposits. Near EF. Extremely rare, only one recorded in RPC. Although the legends are incomplete on this specimen, it shares the same obverse dies as the Leu coin coin cited in RPC.
