CILICIA, Tarsos. Tarkumuwa (Datames). Satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. AR Stater (25mm, 10.20 g, 10h). Struck circa 375 BC. Baal of Tarsos seated right, torso facing, cradling eagle-tipped scepter, holding grain ear and grape bunch; thymiaterion to right; below throne, forepart of bull right; all within crenelated wall / Satrap, wearing Persian dress, seated right, inspecting arrow; winged solar disk to upper right, bow to lower right. Casabonne Type 2; Moysey Issue 6; SNG BN 289. Deep iridescent tone, a little off center, minor doubling, flan flaws, scratch on obverse. Good VF.
