ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (36mm, 16.71 g, 11h). New Style coinage. Dioph- and Diodo(tos), magistrates. Struck 144/3 BC. Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; magistrates’ names in fields; to left, Apollo standing left; Θ on amphora, E below; all within wreath. Thompson 188b var. (letter on amphora; same obv. die). Lightly toned, some striking weakness. VF. Struck on a broad flan.
