LYDIA, Attaleia. Caracalla, with Geta as Caesar. AD 198-217. Æ (17mm, 2.81 g, 12h). Struck circa AD 198. Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla right, vis-à-vis bareheaded and draped bust of Geta left / She-wolf standing right, head left, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus. Hochard 79 (D20/R30); Kurth 63; RPC V.2 Online 48243 (this coin cited). Redbrown surfaces, light porosity. VF.

From the Kelly Ramage Collection. Ex Marc Melcher Collection (Classical Numismatic Group 63, 21 May 2003), lot 1012; Classical Numismatic Group 54 (14 June 2000), lot 1109; Hirsch 206 (24 November 1999), lot 451.

The youthful and bareheaded busts, lack of titulature, and imperial reverse theme suggest this coin was struck very shortly after the elevations of Caracalla and Geta to Augustus and Caesar respectively in January, 198 AD.
