Constantine II. As Caesar, AD 316-337. Æ Follis (13mm, 1.05 g, 6h). Contemporary imitation. Imitating an official issue of the Lugdunum (Lyon) mint, struck under Constantine I, circa AD 335. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Two soldiers standing facing, heads turned toward one another, each holding spear and resting hand on shield set on ground between them; signum between them; PLG. Cf. RIC VII 271 (for similar official issue); LRBC –; cf. CNG 580, lot 732 (example from the 1989 Nether Compton (Dorset) Hoard). Dark brown patina, some roughness. VF.
