PHRYGIA, Metropolis. Mid third century AD. Æ (20mm, 3.38 g, 6h). Helmeted and draped bust of Akamas right / Asclepius standing facing, head left, leaning on serpent-entwined staff. RPC VIII Online 77085. Earthen green patina, slight roughness. Good Fine. Extremely rare, only two recorded in RPC.

Akamas, son of Theseus and hero of the Trojan war, founded several cities in Phrygia, among them were: Dorylaeum, Synada, and Metropolis.
