Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.25 g, 12h). Uncertain eastern mint. 4th issue, AD 223. IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / PROVID DEORVM, Providentia standing left, legs crossed, leaning on column, holding wand over globe and cornucopia. Cf. RIC IV 172 (Rome mint); BMCRE –; cf. RSC 497a (same). Lightly toned, thin flan crack. Good VF. Very rare.
