Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / AETERNITAS AVGG, elephant adorned with saddle-cloth walking left, guided by mahout, holding goad and wand. RIC IV 246Aa corr. Continuing the tradition of Claudius and Antoninus Pius before them, the celebration of the Secular Games at the end of every century since the founding of Rome culminated during the joint reign of Philip I and II, as the city celebrated her 1,000th anniversary in AD 248.
