Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Numerian, wearing military attire, standing left, holding globe and scepter; KAς. When the emperor Carus assumed the purple, he elevated his sons, Carinus and Numerian to the rank of Caesar. Carus left Carinus in command of the western half of the empire, while he and Numerian traveled east to campaign against the Sasanian Persians.
