Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / River-god Chrysorrhoas reclining left, resting elbow on urn from which water flows, holding grain ears and poppies; XPVCOPOAC below; to left, Athena standing right, holding spear and Nike; to right, Hermes standing left, holding purse and caduceus, chlamys draped over arm. Not to be confused with the Syrian river of the same name, Weber (NC XIII [1913], p. 16), notes: “The Chrysoroas (sic) was probably a mountain stream flowing to the north of Hierapolis. As the name shows, its sands must have contained gold.”
