CILICIA, Mallus. Trajan Decius. AD 249-251. Æ (38mm, 28.29 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Decius, togate, standing left, presenting small statue of Marsyas to Tyche, turreted, standing right holding cornucopia; to right, Amphilochos, holding branch and crowning the emperor with a wreath; pair of yoked oxen before; in exergue, boar left. RPC IX 1431; SNG BN 1931; SNG Levante 1292-3. Red-brown surfaces, obverse corrosion, smoothing and tooling. Near VF. |
