Contorniates. Late 4th-5th centuries AD. Æ Contorniate (38mm, 40.61 g, 4h). YS I C I NIKA, the charioteer Eusiches standing left, laureate, wearing lorica aurigae, holding wreath, whip, and palm frond (all engraved in incuse) / GEN EROSVS, the horse Generosus standing left (all engraved in incuse). Alföldi, Kontorniat – (but cf. 642-9 for similar engraved pieces). Red-brown patina, minor smoothing. Good VF. Unique and unpublished, from an extremely rare series of incuse contorniates.
