EGYPT, Alexandria. Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Drachm (32mm, 22.76 g, 12h). Dated RY 18 (AD 133/134). Bareheaded bust left, slight drapery / Male androsphinx standing right, wearing Atef crown and ritual beard, with the body of a lion and the head of a crocodile emerging from its chest, and its tail is the Uraeus serpent wearing a solar disk; perched on its back, griffin (Nemesis) seated right, its right forepaw resting on a wheel; [L] IH (date) across upper field. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 2002 & 7911; K&G 32.599; RPC III 5911/4 (this coin); Emmett 1057.18. Dark brown patina with touches of red and green, some roughness and smoothing. Near VF. Rare.

Another type that is much rarer than indicated in Emmett, where it is only given an “R1” rating.
