Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, monogram above horizontal anchor above forepart of horse left; monogram below throne. SC 204.6b corr. (no horse forepart) var. (anchor upright [see note below]); HGC 9, 12k. Lightly toned, scratch in field on reverse. Good VF. Attractive style. Very rare.

SC 204.6b unfortunately has a couple of different errors. The entry references ESM 503, but that coin has no horse forepart, so SC 204.6b should be corrected to there being no horse forepart on the issue. That said, the present coin suggests that the authors of SC knew of this variety and conflated it with ESM 503. However, it would still be erroneous, as SC 204.6b notes that the anchor is upright, rather than horizontal.
