San Francisco Mint. Silver ingot. Undated (Early 1930s to mid 1940s). Type One Oval Hallmark/ Curved Stem 9s in 999.5/ Serial # 331/ FINE on the face. 5.48/ OZS in two lines on the back. Poured. The ingot itself measures 31mm wide, 50mm tall, 10mm deep. This ingot shows a bold eagle in the well-centered hallmark, slightly weak impression on the far right, a couple of casting voids on the face. This ingot is unusual for the series in that the serial number was placed between 999.5 and FINE. Very rare serial number placement. On most the serial number is directly under the hallmark, followed by 999.5 and FINE. Very rare as such.
