Small cross pattée / ዡ²ʽü/ዞʽ ዦɭ in two lines; three crosses pattée between, trefoils above and below. CTCE 51; SCBI 34 (BM), 928; North 741; SCBC 1129. Lightly toned. Near EF. Rare moneyer and spelling as Harcer.

King Eadgar, the son of Edmund and his first wife Ælfgifu, from 957 ruled the lands north of the Thames, while his older brother Edwig (955-959) ruled the ancestral kingdom of Wessex. With Edwig’s death in 959, Eadgar reigned over a united kingdom of England.
