Su'lukids. Ahmad b. 'Ali. Circa AH 304-311 / AD 917-923. AR Dirham (22.9mm, 2.89 g, 12h). Al-Muhammadiya mint. Dated AH 309 (AD 921/2). With ‘۸۱’ below governor’s name in reverse field. Cf. Miles, Rayy 153 (a dinar of this mint and date); Album 1482. Cleaned and retoning, some marginal weakness. Fine. Rare.

The characters below the reverse field look very much like the numerals for ‘81’, although the use of numerals on a coin of this date would be remarkable.

Closing Date and Time: 29 October 2026 at 15:50:40 ET.
