Uncertain Dynasty. Muhammad b. Tughanshah. Possibly 7-8th/13-14th century. Æ Falus (19mm, 5.86 g, 3h). Without mint or date. al-Sultan al-‘Azam in circular border / Muhammad bin Tughanshah khallada Allah within square frame. Cf. Stephen Album Rare Coins 43 (12 May 2022), lot 577. VF. Extremely rare, apparently unpublished.

The identity of Muhammad b. Tughanshah is uncertain. He is probably not related to the Tughanshah who ruled Naysabur during the late 6/12th century, and Album’s suggestion of a rather later date seems much more likely.
