Crowned and armored bust left, wearing ruff / Crowned coat-of-arms. Schneider, Tower Group C, Class II, p. XVII, 30 = Schneider 136; Brooker 67 (for type); North 2150; SCBC 2690. Pierced and plugged, edge marks, adhesive residue on reverse. Near Fine. Interesting variety lacking the C R flanking the crown.

Schneider records one example in his own collection of a Group C Unite lacking the letters C R on the reverse, struck with different dies than the present specimen. He speculates that it is an early experimental model of the reverse type (Schneider, Tower p. 369).
