Michael VIII Palaeologus. 1261-1282. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (20mm, 4,07 g, 6h). Class IIa. Constantinople mint. Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with six towers; sigla: Δ | K / Michael facing, kneeling slightly right and being presented by archangel Michael to Christ, seated facing to right and holding scroll. Cf. DOC 2-16 (unlisted sigla); PCPC 4 (sigla 41 var. [sigla transposed]); SB 2242. Toned, edge cracks, light graffiti in margins. VF.
