Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (20mm, 3.84 g, 6h). Class IIb. Constantinople mint. Struck 1325-1328 (or later). Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: K| N / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II and Andronicus III, kneeling to left and right respectively. Cf. DOC 493-503 (unlisted sigla); PCPC 185 (unlisted sigla); SB 2461; cf. CNG 347, lot 595 (same sigla). Clipped, a few light scratches in margins. VF.
