Claudius. AD 41-54. Fourrée Denarius (19mm, 3.66 g, 3h). Imitating Rome mint. Laureate head right / EX • S • C/ OB • CIVES / [SE]RVATOS in three lines within oak wreath. For prototype: cf. RIC I 16; cf. RSC 35. Lightly toned, breaks in silver plating revealing copper core and cuprite deposits. VF. Rare.
