PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. temp. Darios I to Xerxes I. Circa 505-480 BC. Fourrée Sixth Siglos (7.5mm, 0.57 g). Imitating Sardes mint issue, struck on the Lydo-Milesian standard. Persian king or hero, wearing kidaris and kandys, quiver over shoulder, in kneeling-running stance right, drawing bow / Incuse punch. For type, cf. Carradice Type II. Toned, breaks in plating, exposing core. VF. Interesting fourrée of a rare denomination.
