THRACE, Philippopolis. Elagabalus. AD 218-222. Æ (37mm, 24.89 g, 7h). Radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Octastyle temple with shield and spear in pediment, seen in perspective. Varbanov, Philippopolis XVII.11.2.2.1.3 this coin; Mouchmov, Philippopolis 470 var. (number of columns, positioning of spear); Varbanov 1658 (R7, same dies as illustration). Green and brown patina, minor smoothing, reverse die cud. VF. Rare.
