GREEK. Glass and gold hairpin. Hellenistic period, 323-31 BC. (11.8 cm). An embossed cap in gold foil depicts a beautiful woman in a diadem, earrings, and necklace, her hair in a bun. This caps a long aqua blue glass rod. At the top, the piece is hooked by a simple, twisted gold wire with two small dark blue glass beads decorating the hook. Traces of deposits. About as made.
