Terracotta grayware bucchero kyathos. Etruscan, Archaic Period, circa 575-490 BC. (17.2 cm). A squat body and wide neck and lip that is slightly flared outward. The vessel is footed and has a single, flat, long, looping handle, decorated with a point at top and a human face on the lower portion of the handle at the rim. Some simple linear engraving on the lower neck and upper body. Some scratches on the body, traces of earthen deposits. Otherwise, about as made. |
