MACEDON, Akanthos. Circa 470-430 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 17.06 g, 7h). Attic standard. Lion right, attacking bull crouching left, biting into its hindquarter; in exergue, fish left / Ethnic in shallow incuse around quadripartite square in relief. Cf. Desneux 97; AMNG III/2, 21; HGC 3, 385. Large cut across obverse, slightly bent flan, trace deposits. Good VF.
