Jongkees, J. H. The Kimonian Dekadrachms. A Contribution to Sicilian Numismatics. (Utrecht, 1941). 8vo, pp. (8), 151, (1); 2 photographic plates, 1 showing the relief of coin profiles. Original printed card covers. Light shelf wear, small nick to upper cover, internally browned as usual, with some light offsetting but clean throughout. A very good copy. The classic, and seldom offered first edition of this informative work - published, as the author states, despite the best efforts of the second World War to prevent it, the first of which had previously prevented Regling from completing his 1914 work on the same subject. Still highly sought after, one copy recently sold at auction for over $2000. Clain-Stefanelli 2269*. Daehn 3170. Kroh p. 21, “A die study in English of the famed dekadrachms by the artist Kimon… this should be read by all interested in this series”. Website shipping rates do not apply. Please note that this lot will ship from our London office.
