Although this piece is anonymous and undated, it bears the mint-name Misr, while the phrase al-‘izza lillah is found similarly positioned on both gold and silver coins of al-Mu‘izz (Nicol types H1, H2 and H3). It has been plausibly suggested that it may have been struck to mark the Fatimid conquest of Egypt under al-Mu‘izz in AH 358.
